Update: Cards are ready and the book is being printed

For those of you who ordered the set of 8 cards: they're back from the printers! And boy they look good. Colors are great and the paper feels very thick and has a nice texture.

I worked hard on designing cards that would be fun to send someone. There are 3 comics and 5 separate animals and they come together in one nice minty envelope.

 Cards are still available! 

For those who would like to order them too, or want an extra set: when I send out the surveys for your addresses and the shipping costs, you can add items to your order. Just Euro 10,- for 8 cards. In the survey I will have calculated what everything weighs. And just saying: the cards will not add to the price off shipping. (Well, maybe if you have ordered three books... I will do the math and let you know) Survey is coming in a few days!

 The book 

I got the test print of the book. That was good because there were certainly things I wanted to change.. So I did! And now it is lovely. The order for all the books is at the printers.

 Sad to say: here is a snag :-(

Because of doing the corrections together with December being a very busy printer month, it will take over two weeks for the books to get to me. Even though I am preparing everything for shipping the coming weeks, the actual mailing of the book will be in the beginning of January 2022 in stead of this month. I'm really, really sorry for the delay, guys. I'll get the orders to you as soon as possible.

Extra comics

There is a little surprise: I didn't put 100 comics in the book but 111. I put in the comics that I drew while the Kickstarter was running as a bonus. So there is an ending of sorts to the book, where I start drawing these comics, then muse about making a book, and finally doing this Kickstarter.

Hello everybody!

Just a short update to tell you how it's going. 

The book is coming along great. I have decided the sequence and fonts. There is a Forword from author Sana Fayyaz, who's work I love. Rozalinda, my graphic designer, is making it into a beautiful book. Getting all the inside artwork on the same level was a lot of work but it's totally worth it. Envelopes and shipping stuff is ready.

Still working on

As many people asked me: I'm putting in sketches I made for the comics. They will become fun flyleaves. The cover is almost finished. I will show it to you when it is.

When the book is ready I will have a test print made to see if there are any errors and if it's up to my standards. When it is: I'm having the book printed in a large quantity for all you guys! Can't wait. It's printed in The Netherlands so there won't be delays because the books have to come from the other side of the world.

Shipping costs

When I know how heavy the book is, I can send out surveys to you for your shipping addresses and shipping costs.

Next

I have a lot sorted out already (packaging, envelopes, paper, printer) and now I'll be working on getting the art work ready. There will be updates on how the schedule is going and I won't crowd your inbox too much. When I know exactly how much the book will weigh, I'll send out surveys that will include the shipping fees. In the meanwhile, feel free to ask me questions should they arise.

Paper choices for comics

So I have been making lots of test prints for the people who want a print of their favorite comic. And I have found the PERFECT paper! You can hardly tell on a picture but it's gorgeous and has a great soft texture. It's the top page seen above, it's called 'coton', weighs 300 grams and is a little off white. The colors are really vibrant (less so in this picture.. I can't seem to get the colors right with my old phone, but they are).

The printing can be done very quick too. Getting everyone's favorite on a list will take more time.

I'm so happy how they look!
